    @bastianallgeier I’ve read this as I think about what’s happening in my home country the US. Magnetic charisma is often good camouflage for evil, and kids often don’t get to choose who they have to interact with. I’m so glad you shared something this deeply personal.

    @rickcogley thanks everyone. FYI, the osechi is from "Fujin Gahou" the famous women's magazine publisher, and man is it good. You pay for it, but, it's a real spread. There are traditional tidbits like kazunoko, but about half is Western food. Really good. Last year crab was too expensive so we got some cheaper stuff and it was, to be charitable, not good. This year, oh yeah, really good. And Ozoni is always good!
